Direct Billing FAQs:
- How do I know how much I am covered for?
You can review the details of your coverage by contacting your extended health carrier or from your plan administrator. Also, many carriers now offer online app’s where you may review your coverage and submit claims directly online (ie. Sunlife).
- What if my visit is partially covered by my extended health carrier?
We can still bill your carrier for the portion that is covered by your insurer however you will be required to pay the remaining balance of your visit at the end of each treatment session.
- Can we coordinate benefits?
If you and your spouse are with the same carriers it is possible to coordinate benefits, however this is only available for specific carriers and in most cases coordination of benefits will have to be manually/online by the patient.
- Do I need a doctor’s referral?
We do not require a doctor’s referral for services however some plans do require one. Please check with your insurance carrier to learn about your plan requirements. Any other doctor reports ie. Xrays/MRI/CT you have are helpful for us during your assessment so please bring them on your initial assessment.
- What if I have a workplace injury and have a claim number from WSIB?
We do offer services for WSIB however require a valid claim number in order to start your claim. Please contact our clinic to learn more about how your treatments can be covered by WSIB.
- What if my claim is denied?
If your visit is denied for online direct billing or WSIB we ask that your balance is paid in full at the end of each treatment. Sometimes carriers/WSIB will send confirmation/denial of services letters to your home. Please ensure that you let us know if there have been any changes in your claim to avoid any extra fees.
